Formed, a curriculum for Christlikeness
How do we accomplish spiritual formation in this hyper-individualized, hyper-fragmented, hyper-hyped world of 21C culture? How can communal, spiritual disciplines be re-embodied for young adults? Come hear the story of how Formed, a curriculum for Christlikeness, was conceived, birthed, and practiced. Join Aaron Klinefelter to discuss the creation of Formed.
The Spiritual Entrepreneur* and the way of the Millennial Community
This workshop will explore themes and opportunities for building a faith community among young adults of ages 18-30 that integrates campus, congregation, and local community into sustainable, mutual relationships. We will examine a specific paradigm from Agape Campus Community in Cleveland. We will utilize a model of the spiritual entrepreneur as a basis of creative and innovative development. This will be a time of mutual conversation as we all face the challenge of spiritual relevance and sustainability in a “post-postmodern” world. Join Pastor Joe Kovitch and musician Jim Bockhoff for this conversation about building a faith community.
* Entrepreneur in the business world is defined as one who seeks to understand how opportunities to create new products or services, new markets, production processes, ways of organizing existing technologies, or raw materials arise and are discovered by specific individuals, who then use various means to develop them. (Add the word “spiritual” to this and you have the opportunity to grow “church” in new and unique settings.) Questions: How do opportunities arise? Why do some individuals but not others recognize them? What factors influence the success of new ventures after they are landed? How are such missional visions sustained?
